Since
2010, the National Crafts Council of Bangladesh and Bengal Foundation have
jointly organized the Master-crafts persons Award and a Crafts Fair (Karumela). This year the
Crafts Fair was run from 6 to 9 March 2014 at Bengal Gallery, Dhanmondi.
The
Crafts Fair also hosted a crafts making workshop, which was open for all. The
workshop held on Saturday and Sunday, the 8th and 9th of March from
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on the craft of working with wicker (Shola) and the art of
making traditional clay dolls (Tepa Putul).
I went there on 8th March evening and enjoyed the fair with my wife.
