Bangladesh Folk Festival starts
on April 5, 2013 to present the country’s history, heritage and culture to the
tourists from both home and abroad. Bangladesh Tourism Board is going to
organise the daylong festival at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre of
the capital. The festival will feature baul, jari, sari, marfati, Lalon,
vhatiali, vhaowaia song and other subjects of the folk tradition of the
country. Home-made cakes, handicrafts, exclusive Bangladeshi fabrics and
designs, bangles, pottery, painted dolls, jute-made goods, rickshaw, boat,
traditional henna will be showcased in the festival.
